Bear seeking a new wrangler

Many of you who have met me, have met Curtis, my friend of 24 years.  Many of you may not realize that some years back he had been stabbed in the back seven times and experienced an NDE   Because of the nature of the injury he is in constant pain and working with me has been a great distraction for him from the constant reminder of that pain and ( Read more... )

I am so sorry to hear of Curtis' pain. As he is such a professional, I would have never guessed it.

The position of wrangler is seriously tempting to me. I'm even un-employed right now....

What area are you in? Curtis has agreed to finish out the year, which means that Lawton OK Ren Faire, Hartville, MO Whitehart Ren Faire and Great Plains Faire should be covered, though, even a location as close as Joplin is proving difficult for him to sit through the drive.
I have a couple other events that I have arranged a Wrangler on site which are not public but corporate events and the two Gratis Events which our Foundation provides each year to aid in worthy causes.
Next year begins with Scarletfest and I have not yet begun booking 2009 outside of some year after year sponsors.
If you can put up with me, keep me out of the garbage cans, keep me from begging for food, prompt me to perform as patrons request it, I could certainly be pleased to have you Wrangler. It did once happen that I attacked a stand-in wrangler who I was unfamiliar with. STill, it was only a light mauling, nothing serious. I'm a pretty easy going bear.

I'm in the greater KC area. I might be able to bear with you, but I don't think I could be your permanent wrangler solution. Though I would really love the experience and to get to know more about the cause you support.

I must have mispelled something as it came back undeliverable in both cases, in one case I left of the L in gmail. Simply write me byron at byronbear dot org and then we can communicate. You sound like a good candidate in Missouri regions. You'd have to brush up on your bear lore!

I'm afraid I misspelled my address. I have e-mailed you and have been enjoying your website.

We just returned from the first weekend of Lawton Renfair. Lawton is in Commanche County, Oklahoma, in the SW part of the state. We like to appear in that county because the last three bears in Oklahoma were extirpated near Mount Scot, north of Fort Sill back in 1934. The skins of a female and her cub and another male found near the base of Mt Scot, were placed in the Natural History Museum ( ... )
