Title: Shattered
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Character/Pairing: Elizabeth Weir centric, possible John/Liz
Rating: T
Warning: Erm, heavy whump? Yes. Lots of Liz whump.
Chapter: 3/? , chapter 2 here, and chapter 1 here.
Notes: This Mortail Coil, BAMSR and Ghost in the Machine never ever happen, just so you know. Also, I'm so very sorry this took me longer, I pretty much just suck, so.
Summary/Excerpt: 'Not a soul moves, nor do they speak as Elizabeth’s gaze falls to her hand; the IV connected to her wrist. Her other hand goes to touch the IV, and she sucks in a breath of pain as she finds it hurts.'

The city is dark, cold, and the air is impatient. Breaths are held, whispers exchanged. Keller said there was a chance she wouldn’t pull through, yet people refuse to believe it. Some are angry, some sad; some do not speak, others plunge themselves into work. But her team, her team; they sit. And they wait.

John sits at her side, Teyla behind him, Torren sound asleep in her arms, Rodney pacing, and Ronon at the foot of the bed, his stance protective, his eyes hard and never leaving her delicate face.

When Elizabeth wakes, it seems as if Atlantis wakes with her.

Her eyes flutter once, twice, before they finally open. Her now dull green, but still so wide eyes slowly move about the room. They land on Ronon first, followed by Rodney, and then as she painfully moves her head to the side her eyes lock on John, then Teyla. She frowns, eyeing the child in Teyla’s arms. Not a soul moves, nor do they speak as Elizabeth’s gaze falls to her hand; the IV connected to her wrist.

Her other hand goes to touch the IV, and she sucks in a breath of pain as she finds it hurts.

“It’s good to have you back, Dr. Weir.” Ronon speaks; his voice low and honest.

This perplexes her, for it is always John who speaks first. Always.

She now wonders if the voices she had heard before, when she was still too tired, and too scared to wake, were real.

She closes her eyes and chokes back a small sob.

“You are home, Elizabeth.” Teyla’s soft and wavering voice echoes in her ears. It is nothing but calm, Teyla’s voice, not as she once knew.

Elizabeth turns her head and learns the cause of Teyla’s wavering, and so foreign, voice, is the large droplets cascading down her cheeks, from her eyes.

Her voice is hoarse, and when she speaks, it hurts.

“I thought I - and they told me you - “ She stops, closes her eyes and takes in a deep breath.

She feels John hold her hand. He has not spoken, and she opens her eyes, a small smile on her face.

“I’m home.”
