Lavender had been browsing in the stacks and came walking by where Luna was sitting.

"Hello, Luna. How are you? Mind if I sit with you for a bit?"

Luna smiled widely up at Lavender. "Hello, Lavender," she said brightly, "Of course you can. I was just doing my charms homework. I got a little distracted, though."

She pointed to the book on mythical magical creatures in front of her and smiled more widely. "It's very interesting. How are you enjoying being back at Hogwarts?"

"It looks fascinating. I do love magical creatures and I am sure that I'd never get tired of learning more about them."

Lavender sat down and smiled at Luna. "It's wonderful being back here without having to worry about being attacked by Death Eaters and their allies. How about you? Have you managed to make up for the time you lost last year?"

"I don't think I have yet," said Luna, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear and almost dislodging her wand. "Everyone's been so busy. I hope I'll see them soon."

She shrugged at that, and it was near impossible to tell that she was much more unhappy about the situation than she looked.

Lavender noted the shrug and took a moment to open up to Luna's energies. She wasn't trying to be invasive mainly she wanted to make sure Luna was OK. Thus, she was aware of a slight melancholy air about her.

"Funny isn't it, how often there just isn't the time to relax. There is so much pressure. You should see about getting permission to visit with us at the cottage."

"Oh yes, definitely," she agreed, "It's a little sad, really..."

She brightened up immediately, however, at the suggestion of coming to visit the cottage.

"That would be wonderful!" she exclaimed, "Is it nice? How are you all?"
