Day: 14
Weight: 219
Thought: Grinding is good for ya
So after 14 days of eating Vegan I have slipped into some routines. I walk to work, taking a route through Bryant park, past the public library and up 5th ave. It's nice to be outside and much better than sitting on the cramped subway next to a sleeping homeless guy who smells of dried urine and wet garbage. I also drink a lot more water during the day, more trips to the water cooler means more opportunities to talk to co-workers (we each have our own offices so social communication can become stunted. I get updates, gossip and talk. So I feel better informed about the trivialities of Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, Battle Star Galactica, Baseball, the NFL draft, the hockey playoffs and whatever else is going on in this busy world of ours.
Over the past week, I have also eased into an eating routine that seems to work
Breakfast
glass of soy milk
glass of water
Mid Morning Snack
a cup of wholegrain cheerios
apple
glass of water
Lunch
beans, baby greens salad, carrots with olive oil or
whatever leftovers from dinner
soy milk yohurt
Mid Afternoon Snack
handful of raisins, almonds and dried fruit
banana
occasional green tea
Dinner
tofu, chili, lentil soup or something else
cup of chocolate soy milk
It has been serving me well, I especially like the chocolate Silk soy milk. They also have little green caps on the cartons which are a marketing campaign to help with clean energy. They buy wind or solar power with every carton... whoever said you had to Save the Cheerleader to save the world... buy soy milk instead! The wholegrain cheerios have also been a boon, they are fun to eat and if you lick em you can stick em on the head of an unsuspecting co-worker, spouse or friend. Lotsa fun, my record is 4 stuck on a person. Burn calories as you eat!
I am dreading next Monday that's when the Girl scout cookies I ordered 4 months ago (before I decided on this whole ridiculous 40 day plan) come in. I believe I ordered 8 boxes for various uses.
