Take that! I'm so proud of myself. I'm going to be getting my games back on Monday!
Backstory: When I broke up with one of my boyfriends and disappeared from my social circle in Eugene, I decided that I could give all the board games I had to the U of O gaming club, 'cause of my fond memories of the Columbia games club. When I got back from Africa, I found that the president of the club didn't have the games, so I tracked down the person who did and got the games back to the president, 'cause it looked like he was going to get things going again. But then he didn't. He passed the games off to The Break, which is the arcade at the U of O. I didn't really understand this at the time and by the time I figured it out, he was unwilling to make any effort to help me get the games I donated back so that I could play them with my friends. This was horribly annoying to me, as there is no point in spending hundreds of dollars to replace games, when they are sitting in a box someplace and no one is using them. I've bitched out this for almost a year. I've hassled all kinds of people, whined to everyone who would listen, and fumed about it whenever anyone mentions games or the guy's name or almost anything else. What I haven't done is call The Break and ask for my games back, which is what I did today. This is because I often forget about the simplest route. So, the nice girl asked what games I wanted, I told her, and she said that I should come in on Monday and pick them up. So, I'll be going in on Monday morning and recovering a bunch of games. This will mean that we'll have lots of games to play soon. Yes!! All we need now is a house that is big enough to have friends over and a card table.
