We had our second Pfizer Covid vaccinations yesterday, so we both slept poorly last night. Then, today, I went to have my temporary crown put on. I had wanted to leave it like this and get the rest of the work done in Portugal, but the dentist insisted that no dentist would just put on a temporary for me. Anyway, I survived that. It was very loud having the tooth ground down. I spent the rest of the day feeling not so well, so I sat in bed and read.
Because I sat in bed and read, I was able to finish reading "Platoon Leader: A Memoir of Command in Combat" by James R. Mcdonough. It was a good, straightforward book about the author's experiences as a lieutenant in Vietnam. I've read stories of the Vietnam war that were overwhelming and visceral. This was much more about leadership, and thus very useful for my writing. I kind of wonder if the people who wrote the Mass Effect games read it.
