All is mostly well and menu

Things are going along pretty well here. I am less psycho than sometimes, although I cut back on how much gelatin I was eating, and my body is now falling apart. So, more gelatin. Sadly, once again, we are leaning more towards leaving Russia at some point in the not incredibly distant future. A friend, who also lives here and who is also reluctant to leave, asked, "How much do we want to support the government by being here?" Selling weapons to Myanmar's government, while possibly not the worst thing that the Russian government is doing even this month, is distressing. Of course, I'm sure the US is selling weapons to lots of terrible people. That, obviously, is no less wrong. Our plan is still to wait until the pandemic is over and then go and see some of the places on our list. I think that the idea of leaving our nice situation here for an unknown place is naturally going to be distressing. Leaving Russia for a place that we have visited several times and where we feel comfortable will be a lot easier.

In good news, I'm all set up to see the eye doctor on Tuesday. The woman on the phone spoke very very quickly, but I'm pretty sure that I know what to do and where to go. While it is low-hanging fruit, in terms of doctors, I'm still looking forward to having that done. It will be one fewer doctor to see. After that, maybe a mammogram, since that will also be simple (I hope).
