the way her arms bend around me
around rails
catching setting skies with our eyes
falling, dive

the phone on my desk silent for centuries, i missed your voice
close my eyes to remember the smell of your hair, wrapped around my neck
as boxes of words neatly layed out are slept upon
stored where stars go to collide conveniently in my chest

save the sheets we slept on, the maps we never need
footprints tracked through puddles
watch. watch.
when i stumble through empty hallways
past collapsed bodies
begging to forget the depth of your eyes
im always the willing hostage

till i live in colors that used to match
with a voice too raw to sing you to sleep tonight
we cave in
