santa is a good man, and quite sneaky might i add. after thinking that the clothes i got were my christmas present, santa decided to wrap up my mom's food processor in a big box and hide a 30 gig ipod under it. he tends to wrap things deceptively in order to try to throw off potential snoops. so i got an ipod to go with my new computer, i am blessed beyond anything i could ever deserve, but the best gift of all was what my mom gave me. she took all of her old family recipes and copied them by hand into a recipe box for each one of us.
the christmas eve service at church of the highlands was phenomenal. the music was amazing and the little drama was really funny. they had four services and the one we went to was so full that i had to sit on the stairs with about 200 other people. there is something happening there and it is un-deniable. pastor chris' message was good too. he talked about what makes the perfect gift (it has value, it meets the need, and tells you alot about the giver) and how Jesus met every one of those descriptions. the energy there was unreal, i wish everyone could experience that. i am not sure why but the tears almost started. (yes i am an emotional dork)
the week is going to go by too fast. we used to spend the entire week between christmas and new years together as a family and cap it off with a huge feast on new years eve, but now everyone has jobs and it is so much harder to do things like that.
i am thankful for my family more every day
all for now
