Because it came with him when he arrived and his soul is within the blade! It's part of him!

It used to be in a magically sealed box, but I had to get it out so I could possibly do something about that.

Which does not solve the problem of Arthas' soul being part of the sword, which is what I've been trying to fix.

Thank you for your wonderful comments now instead of months ago when I was asking for help before and making me repeat myself about the blasted sword and what I've been trying to do.
