Someone left you in the woods?

...I don't suppose you'd mind sharing the name of the individual when you finally discover it?

Nope, sorry. There won't be anything left of them when I finish.

I never get to have any fun thanks to you. What if I want the chance to express my displeasure over waking up in the clinic?

Wow. I am so sorry you ended up in the clinic. In a warm bed, with food and shelter and people to tend to you. My pity only surpasses my sarcasm in weight.

Yes, having to miss breakfast and still be late to class was certainly an excellent way to start the day. Having everyone needlessly fuss just because I teleported wrong was even better. I'm truly fortunate this time around.

At least you can schedule when you see your patients.

Least you didn't wander around the woods and have to sneak into your apartment, like some kind of burglar

Okay no, we're not going to have a fight over who has it worst. You can punch the jerk first, but only if you leave something for me to punch, alright?

It's probably best that you remember to specify that now, actually.

Fine. I solemnly promise to leave you to your own devices if you let me hit whoever is responsible once. Fair?

What did happen to your key, by the way?

Fair.

No clue. I looked around the apartment and didn't find it. I think I may have lost it in the woods.

Then you'll definitely have to get a new one.

And that's why "sneaking in like a burglar" was involved, then? Asch and Luke must have been surprised.

Shhhhhhhhh!!

[And yes she writes it out instead of actually saying it.]

They don't know. At least I hope they don't. I sneaked in through my bedroom window.

[...duly noted, Paprika.]

Afraid of giving them ideas or something to that effect?

Well, they won't hear it from me.

They'll probably hear about the shifts from the buzz around the village, but I don't want to worry them anymore than they already may be. No need to learn mom was stuck in the woods for the entire night. Not like I'm hurt, so it's fine.

Thanks. Any idea where I can get a new key?

Check in at the smithy?

Or you might ask Winry - Buffy's always going on about how good she is at little projects like that.

Sounds like a plan. I'll have to borrow one of my son's key so it can get replicated.

Is everything normal at the school by the way?

I was just about the only teacher late. Several of the students have made their way over.

Normal enough, for a Shift.

Wow you really got to step up bro. How are you going to look being the only one late, even on a shift day.

Don't sweat it too much. One late day never kills someone.
