dysonrules Summary: Scorpius has a big announcement for his parents.
Scorpius fidgeted with his robes until Albus finally grabbed his hands.
"It will be fine, love," he said gently.
"They'll disown me," Scorpius wailed.
Al pulled him into a hug. "No, they won’t. They love you. This isn't going to change that."
Scorpius looked at Al dubiously. "Have you met my father?"
Albus grinned. "As a matter of fact, I have. I suffered his glares when you brought me home as your friend. And I helped revive him from his case of the vapors when you later announced that we were dating."
Scorpius glared. "Malfoy men don't get the vapors, Albus."
"His very manly swoon," Al replied, unrepentantly.
Before Scorpius could reply, a house elf opened the doors to the formal sitting room. "Master and Mistress will be seeing you, now."
Al squeezed Scorpius' hand encouragingly. Astoria Malfoy was a picture of calm. Draco Malfoy, however, radiated tension. His posture was stiff, his jaw was set, and he had the arms of his chair in a white-knuckled grip.
Scorpius took a deep breath. "Mother, Father, I have been accepted into the Auror program at the Ministry."
Mrs Malfoy immediately beamed and exclaimed, "Oh, we're so proud of you, Scorpius!"
Mr Malfoy practically melted into his chair with obvious relief. "Is that all?"
Scorpius frowned. "What were you expecting me to say?"
Mr Malfoy looked uncomfortable. "I thought you were going to announce something more… personal."
Mrs Malfoy's amused gaze drifted to her husband. "He thought you were going to say you were getting married," she clarified.
"Oh we are," Albus piped in, "just not until Scorpius is done with his training."

Later that night, exiled to the couch by his less than pleased future fiancé, Albus decided that the look on Draco Malfoy's face was totally worth it.
