Sixty-nine years ago today the United States was attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor resulting in the United States entering a war that had been being fought since '37. Our assistance to the allies eventually overcame despotism in both hemispheres leading to several decades of relative peace and prosperity around the world. I offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to the men and women, military and civilian, who rose to the challenge and fought back the fascism of Japan and Nazi Germany.
