Between August 16 and September 2, I was working every day. I just had my first free weekend and, predictably, spent it sleeping off the stress.
Today, I was on the road for 12 hours, due to a meeting in another city.
Tomorrow evening, I fly to Prague. Three days' training, then Saturday-Monday for sightseeing.
I'm taking the computer, but I might not be around much. I'll be trying to rest, because the alternative is passing out with exhaustion at some point next week.
But! I managed a pathetic two responses to
the crossover meme:
For
Ciciaye, Buffy and Phantom
(Note: I haven't watched/read Buffy in ages >.<)
The flames in the candelabra flickered. The shadows kept shifting on the porcelain mask in a way that made it look like someone who'd just bitten into a lemon. Not true. It couldn't move, and the other side of the guy's face didn't move, either.
Buffy folded her arms. "You will lead us to safety," she declared.
He spread his arms a bit. The cloak flared in a silent threat. She'd seen better.
"Or I'll let Dawn start singing."
She'd gone through a lot as Slayer, but this was the first time she saw a skeleton wince.
For
kamikaze_suzie, Darth Vader and Krolock:
Obi-Wan affected his most ingratiating smile. It wouldn't do to get stuck in the rain on this backwater planet, not when there was a castle with a proper roof. He could see the candles behind their soon-to-be host. "We would be most grateful, Excellency. We've travelled far, and while we expect our ship to arrive tomorrow evening-"
The Count's gesture stopped him in his tracks. Those nails were a bit too long. Fashion, he guessed.
"It would be an honour and pleasure for me if you would stay the night, and day. It is rare for us to hear tales from worldly travellers. They are always - entertaining."
The Count turned to lead the way up the stairs. Obi-Wan discreetly elbowed Anakin.
"Stop gawking," he murmured. "It doesn't work for a worldly traveller."
The boy was openly staring. "I want a cloak like that!"
