love and fear

From thefridayfive:

1. Who was your first kiss (your mom does not count)?
I honestly don't remember. It was sometime in junior high, I think... either during the eighth grade or prior. Someone whom I was hung up on for a while, like anyone else. From school, but not really my neighborhood, and probably in the same grade as me. All the likely candidates (not that the list is long) I can't place in any certain order.

2. What is your idea of the perfect date?
Dinner, light entertainment, and talking about something intellectually interesting. Fun is good, but it's just fun and passes. It needs to be enjoyed at the time to be enjoyed fully.

3. What music needs to be on when you are “getting your thang on”?
Something new, melodramatic, and possibly slow or with a slow-progressing harmony.

4. What is the most amazing experience you’ve ever shared with a partner?
It sure as hell doesn't belong on LiveJournal.

5. Sex is best saved for: love, marriage, alcohol, days that end in “y”?
None of the above. Sex is not a material object or a scarce resource, so "saving" doesn't hold anything near the same meaning. Not that it should be devoid of guidelines for anyone, but those guidelines aren't in the nature of conservation. That's just refusing experience.

From the altfriday5

1. What do you fear the most? Is it a rational fear?
I seriously doubt people display their absolute worst fears in an lj blog. However, that things in the world won't change for the better perennially ranks very, very highly on my list.

2. What to-many-people-scary thing are you totally unafraid of? (i.e., bees, snakes, spiders, Dubya...)
I probably have drastically less relationship fears than anyone else I know of.

3. Do you intentionally do things that you find scary?
Sometimes.

4. How do you cope with fear?
There's not much coping to do after the fact, the trick is simply to rationally decide what the ride should look like and then hang on.

5. What's the scariest thing you've ever done/been involved in?
I'll have to pass on this one. At least a few things have been sufficiently scary that I'll rationally listen to my fears as a warning next time.
