1. What is your favorite specialty restaurant (Italian, Mexican, Thai, etc.)?
Indian, especially southern Indian. Closest thing to vegetarian restaurant I can find.
2. What do you order to eat there?
Anything vegetarian, but usually several different foods.
3. What is your favorite specialty food or dish to cook?
Stir-fried tofu and vegetables. I vary the vegetables and seasoning based on my mood, and usually keep the seasoning simple. It goes well over rice, which also varies slightly with my mood.
4. If you could travel to the home country of your favorite specialty food, what would you do there?
I'm not sure. I'd like to talk with local vegans, and Buddhists if possible, about their experiences and motivations. I would definitely be a tourist.
5. What is your worst experience with a specialty food restaurant?
One of my favorite Asian (Vietnamese or Thai) restaurants was shut down on very short notice. A spot inspection by the local health and sanitation board revealed a substantial roach infestation. The restaurant owners decided against fixing the situation and permanently closed the establishment.

1. Rain: hate it? Love it? Indifferent?
"I'm only happy when it rains."
2. Relate an interesting story from your life involving rain (e.g. a big storm, a romantic walk in the rain, etc.).
OK, when I've written my memoirs, it will be raining through half the book. I've seen several hurricanes firsthand. And well, I have a romantic fascination with storms.
I was once driving from college to my parents' home, an eastbound trip of a few hours, and noticed a storm overtaking me at almost exactly the halfway point. I stopped at a rest stop briefly, and heard on the radio that the area I was leaving was under tornado warning. Completely forgetting all common sense and experience with severe weather, I got back in my car and continued on my route well in excess of the speed limit and slightly faster than traffic. I passed a state trooper who was travelling perhaps 3 m.p.h. slower, and kept going in the left lane. No one was behind me, and he clearly had noticed me (but didn't appear upset or wave me over). The officer didn't pull out behind me, even though he was well within rights to do so. I like to think that he recognized I was making the best of my previous foolish behavior, and knew that I probably wasn't the type to speed that much, given my passing a marked police car after nearly making eye contact. I don't think I've otherwise driven that fast. If it happened again, I'd have asked at the rest stop if they have a very good shelter.
3. How much does it usually rain where you live? Is that too much for you? Not enough? Just right?
There is more rainfall than in most places. Many people take the viewpoint that we simply get a disproportionate amount of rain during the winter. Most summers have a drought, especially recently. Overall, I could stand a little more rain. We have many overcast but dry days that aren't really fun. This year we've seen less precipitation overall and no snow.
4. Is it raining right now where you are? If yes, what kind of rain is it?
No. The sky is clear, and there's a light wind, so it's possible that a small burst will come much later.
5. Tell us your favourite song lyric with "rain" in it (or any lyric that comes to mind, if you can't pick a "favourite").
See my answer to the first question. The earliest song I remember liking was "(I love a) rainy night" by Eddie Rabbit.
