Wicked's Parker to Bring a Suitcase Full of Lies to Birdland
By Andrew Gans

Nicole Parker, who made her Broadway debut in 2006 as one of the Comedy All Stars in the Scott Wittman-directed Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me but who is best known for her work on the FOX television series "MADtv," will go it solo next month at Birdland.

Parker will play "fictional television icon-of-sorts" Jillane Jenkins in an evening titled Suitcase Full of Lies! Show time is 6 PM on Feb. 7.

"Jillane Jenkins won your heart as the irrepressible Callie Carter in the 1970's sitcom classic, 'She's Got a Job!," according to press notes. "Now, with her one-woman show, Suitcase Full of Lies, she will win your pity…and she will do it through song and dance! Called a 'tour de force!' by her fourth husband, and '...(so) really ...show...(!),' by USA Today, Suitcase takes us on the journey of Jillane's career - from the height of her celebrity, to the dark secret of her father's painful struggle with eczema."

Parker was last on Broadway playing the role of Elphaba in Wicked.

Birdland is located in Manhattan at 315 West 44th Street. There is a $25 or $35 cover charge plus a $10 food/drink minimum. For reservations call (212) 581-3080 or visit www.BirdlandJazz.com.
