'Spokane' locks spot at Schoenfeld
McDonagh's latest play to open on March 4
With Broadway real estate a hot commodity in a crowded season, the incoming production of Martin McDonagh's latest play, "A Behanding in Spokane," has locked in its spot at the Schoenfeld Theater.
Helmed by John Crowley and produced by Robert Fox, "Spokane" will open March 4 following the current limited run of scribe Keith Huff's "A Steady Rain," also directed by Crowley, which ends Dec. 6.
Casting for the play, the first by McDonagh ("The Pillowman," "The Lieutenant of Inishmore") to take place in America, remains up in the air. Chris Rock, Sam Rockwell and Zoe Kazan have long been said to be eyeing roles, but an actor for the play's fourth role has not yet been confirmed.
"Spokane" is about a missing appendage, a couple of con artists and a hotel clerk.
