Did these people actually see "Saved!" It was so sloppy. But otherwise, YAY!

It was kind of all over the place (Saved, that is), but it was kind of endearing. Plus, that CAST!

Oh, and Claude/Berger forever. Kthnx.

Oh, the cast was great. I felt for them, because I thought the show was so weak. My favorites were Morgan, Mary and Curtis.

Claude/Berger for eternity. I enjoy that it's completely canon too. That hardly ever happens with slashy pairings.

seriously, a major broadway musical that acknowledges the possibility of a homosexual/bisexual romance at its center? LOVE IT. (i know it's not the ONLY one, but it's still rare enough.)

Claude/Berger is what Mark and Roger would have been 30 years earlier. haha

hahaha. speaking of mark and roger, one thing that i love about the rent movie is that super gay hug at the end of "what you own."

claude/berger has bonus threesome (with sheila) potential, too. "highly unusual," indeed. although pretty much everyone i've taken to the show is just like, "so, sheila's kind of neccessary..."

I've only seen it once on bway so far, but in the park, pretty much the entire tribe made out with each other. Hanke and Will had amazing chemistry.

I've seen some pretty gay Mark/Rogers, namely Declan Bennett and Harley Jay in their first few weeks on bway. Declan used to go over to Harley immediately before Goodbye Love and sang Without You to him. It was kind of ridiculous. haha

AHAHAHAHA. i wish i'd seen that! the only time i saw it on broadway, it was matt caplan and... some guy whose name i always forget because he was such a non-presence.

i didn't see hair in the park, but i've heard that hanke was really good! will and gavin are just incredible together -- i read an article in the NYT a couple of days ago about "teamwork on broadway" that includes the following quote:

“With Jonathan there was a protectiveness that Berger had for Claude, but the relationship with Gavin is different - more romantic, a more complicated chemistry,” Mr. Swenson said.

Hm...I thought Matt had some okay Rogers...when was it?

Yeah, I posted that over here. haha. I liked that quote. I didn't see it with Groff and I wondered how the Berger/Claude dynamic would go because um...Groff is such a cutie, but I'd feel awkward watching a 35 year old man have a romantic chemistry with him. I was glad to hear about the difference in dynamic, but you're right Gavin and Will are really equal in terms of presence. I can't wait to see it again.

2006. i looked in my old playbill and it was tim howar. i don't even know if he was bad, i just don't remember ANYTHING about his performance, which i generally don't think is a good thing?

groff is adorable, but yeah, i can't see him and will being super sexual together. the same thing happens when jay understudies the role -- he just seems so much younger, more like a little brother than an equal. which isn't to say that having a less overtly romantic claude/berger relationship diminishes the story at all. it just puts a very different spin on things!

Aww...Tim is one of my favorites. I know a lot of people didn't enjoy him, but yeah...I adored him. I saw him with Hanke and Jaime Lee Kirchner and I honestly haven't enjoyed a cast of RENT as much since then.

Oh, I'm an understudy fiend. I love seeing different takes on the role. I really hope I get to see Jay, I've only heard lovely things about him.
