(no subject)
Okay, so yeah...it's been a while since I had an actual update....so here is the most exciting news first......
So...Straw Hat Theater at Ashtabula is putting on the production of "Peter Pan."
So, Last Friday, I had callbacks for Wendy. I really didn't think anything of Peter Pan because I really didn't think he'd cast me for anything but like an ensemble part or something. So I went there, and my lovely Heather was there to read for Peter *but she didn't get the part...AND SHE TOTALLY SHOULD'VE GOTTEN IT!* and then this other girl named Laura from Geneva. *She got the role of Peter Pan.....grrrrr* But Laura was good I suppose. But anywho...We read over some of the script because Doug wanted *Chemistry* between Wendy and Peter...but no other girls playing Wendy showed up...SO I sat there...quietly...waiting for the other girls...and no one showed up. *Shocked...scared* OOOOOk...so we read through some of the script, and the character came so easy to me. Probably because Wendy has been one of my favorite fairytale characters for years, and so it was a piece of cake. I felt really good about this callback because I read well and no other "Wendys" showed up. He said the girls chosen to play Wendy and Peter would have a call from him by Saturday.
So I went home.
And I waited.
Then it was Saturday.
No call.
I wanted to cry. I wanted the part sooo bad!
So Monday afternoon...guess who called.
DOUG!
Guess who got the part of Wendy.
ME!
As soon as I heard him say hello, I SCREAMED! He said, "I'll take that as a yes?"
We hung up, AND I STARTED RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE LIKE A MAD WOMAN! SCREAMING AND JUMPING UP AND DOWN! It was the best feeling ever!
So yup. That's the best part of spring break so far.
