Get Brootalized! (Too violent?)

Brootal Sun Fest II is done and over with... so, now I can finally get a full night's sleep. Well, almost, it is now 4am. Four of the best days that I can remember. So many good bands. So many good times. One of the best Doctor Dinosaur shows ever. Like Ray said at the time, "What the hell was that [thing the crowd did]?" (Me included) It was like an eXtreme version of "Red Rover" where the two sides ran full speed at each other. I don't know... it was fun at the time.
Discovered some great bands that I have a feeling will become future obsessions, like Madeline Ava (which I am listening to at this very moment), Madeline just put me in a happy mood after her adorable, nervous-laugh filled set. How can you resist a ukulele (try saying "ukulele" with out smiling, go on, try it) and heart on your-sleeve lyrics? Also, I am thoroughly enjoying the gravelly male vocals paired with the female vocals of New York Taxi. And it was great to finally see AJJ live for the first time after several missed opportunities.
I am loving The Retroskeptics' EP, even though "Hometown" is not included in the track listing. But, there was a great rendition of it at the Friday show with some high energy response from the audience. Mostly from the usual suspects in the front. I mean who else could get some jaded kids to sing-a-long to local commercial jingles. You'd never imagine that "double E, Gee, double E" could be such a fun sing-a-long at a Skrappys show. Or the Golf N' Stuff jingle could illicit such a response from a crowd of scenesters. I love it. Everytime.

Massive picture post(s) to come... when I feel in the mood, and [hopefully] remember my photobucket password.

PS- Alex, why do you hate music? And when are you going to play some shows again? What happened to the LAG 10 Year Anniversary reunion show?
