What the heck, IRS?

Oh sweet lord.  I may be following my dream, but that is sure making my taxes this year a holy terror.  I have W-2s from Blue Man, [title of show] and THREE from Rat Pack.  Freakin' touring.  I also have student loan interest AND school credit forms.  When did this get so complicated?  Last year was so easy, just Blue Man!  Who knew that taking the scarier path meant harrowing times for any tax software I look at?  Seriously, TaxCut wants to charge me $30 for every state filing I do, and I have to file three!  Thank goodness we did Texas and Florida!  No state taxes taken out there.  However, my 2007 taxes will be a nightmare as well because I'll have to file in NY, MN, CT, NJ, MI, PA, and OH.  Not to mention if I keep on keepin' on with the Rat Pack this fall.  We have booked dates in CA, AZ, MO, and GA.  Goodness gracious.  I forgot this part when I signed up to tour!

In any case, I'm currently trying to decide whether I should go back out in the fall.  I had really wanted to tour with Sweeney Todd, but even though my chances skyrocketed when the tour was handed over to my GM, they quickly dropped to zero when the tour came to him pre-staffed.  Let's just hope that Company can hold on, because those are the peeps going on the Sweeney tour.  If the tour starts and Company is still open, maybe those jobs will be available.  RFP is random in the way they hire.  It's like, if you start off somewhere and a job opens up, hooray, you win!  Otherwise, it's like, "wait. but you sit over there. you can't be on this other show.  we sit over there."  Strange.  But, here's hoping my ever elusive ATPAM contract is somewhere out there (beyond the clear blue sky...)

Sunday, me and the Brits head up to New Haven, CT, where we've sold about 9 tickets.  Holla!  Even Yale is on Spring Break this week, so I'm not sure New Haven is going ot measure up to Nashville in their minds.  BUT- my bff Brookie from Tejas will be visiting her sister and adorable new nephew in New Haven the whole week, so that will be great!!!!

Tomorrow I'm covering for The Fantasticks, which I saw last week with Thomas.  Awesome audience though.  this guy across from us laughed at EVERYTHING.  The ***

***Sidebar - A new Gap commerical starring my husband Patrick Wilson and Claire Danes dancing around to showtunes in my official family uniform of khakis and white button down shirts?!?!  Um, I LOVE it!

Where was I?  Oh yes!  The Fantasticks.  So basically the theatre is so teeny, that the actors are like in your laps if you're in the front row, which we were.  And so was this random old man.  He was totally enjoying himself and kept whispering advice to the actors.  Among our favorites were "Whoa!  Easy tiger!" and other inapproriate things.  However, when El Gallo was talking about saddle rash (no spoiler alert, that show ran for 42 freakin' years) this guy was totally straight-faced.  It's seriously the funniest part of the show, and this guy who laughed at everything, was like, "Hey! Saddle rash is NOT funny!"  It was tres enjoyable.

Oh, right, I totes forgot to blog about my big 2-8.  Um, I remember a lot of martinis and that's about it.  It was fun though!  I looked supercute if I do say so myself!  I had just gotten a fun new haircut.  It was cute!  Lots of Blue Man peeps came, and some friends from school, and Dennis from [tos] and new RFP people and peeps from choir.  It was awesome!  I should have birthday parties all year round!  I love seeing my friends!  This year I moved the soiree uptown to Vintage.    I do so love my Vintage.  By the end of the night, I def had to have Michele take care of me, because there just got to be a point when I stopped counting my Sutton Sunshines.  Whoops!  Thanks to her for being a stellar friend and not making fun of me (at least not to my face)!  It was a grand way to ring in my 28th year, which promises to be full of lots of crazy things.

Alright, well, if you can believe I am almost finished with my tour packing.  I don't leave for 3 days!  A new record!  So, I'm heading off to bed.  Hopefully I can get a manicure on Saturday, which would be super nice.  Plus, I suppose I'll have to do my taxes eventually, so I can do that Sat too.  Or, I can just bundle up in my room and watch movies all day.  We'll see what wins out.

Good night and peace out from the UES.

birthday, taxes, work
