End of an era? (ok, so it ended a couple years ago, I'm slow..)

I cancelled DIU's bandwidth server today. Yeah I stopped broadcasting two years ago, on December 31st, as I recall, after an OS reload necessitated by getting hacked (watch out for those "temporary" passwords, hehe). It finally occurred to me to add up how much I've been paying for bandwidth I have no idea if I'll use again.

Duh.

I still have some ideas for a "Final" mix, but I figure I'll get to that when I get to it, and put the stream up if the mood strikes me. I have spent quite a lot of time ripping CDs and getting the metadata in a nice order. Something I never got around to before. I do find I'm getting better at time management these days.

With New Detroit Radio gone (see their website for the sad tale) and IPM dropping the parties and changing formats, it all does seem a bit sad.

What's not sad is all the friends I've made through the project and the DEC since DIU started casting back in early 1999. You've changed my life for the better in more ways than I can describe. Thank you all.

But hey it's a new year. Time to shake things up a bit.

Let's raise a toast for what's passed, and for what's to come.

Happy New Year everyone!

p.s. Check out Pulse State's release if you haven't yet. Good stuff.
