I know you are all beset with excitement and curiosity and dying to know that buzzy is back from her annual migration from places sunny and archaeological.

This year, videlicet, the sunny place was Crete. The obvious archaeological site was Knossos, and the less obvious sites were Aptera and the Minoan necropolis at [somewhere with a very long name]. The obvious museums are Archaeology at Chania, Heraklion and Rethmyon (although the Heraklion one has been closed for renovations since 2007 and can only offer a "greatest hits" exhibition in a tower block basement) and less obvious were a couple of folk museums with incredible textile holdings. Very incredible, one dates from C10, and meriting posts of their own, with semi-helpful notes from me. We also got to swim in the sea, which was rather nice, and eat things, which cannot be underestimated.

Today the brane decided to demonstrate that holiday refreshment has nurtured its power of HATE.

And so, the full report(s) will come later, hopefully, and also hopefully I can add some pictographic interest this year. Traditionally holiday reports are monuments to buzzy!fail.
