This week is the first Australian National Vegetarian Week. That's kinda cool, especially if you're trying thinking about wanting to inform mainstream meat-eating people about vegetarianism. Like my mother.
Of course, for those of us who already reject meat, the
website reads like a big fat piece of propaganda from Seventh Day Adventist vegetarian business
Sanitarium.
Still has some good info though.
Also, I found out today that
PETA is using Dita Von Teese in a pro-spaying and neutering ad, fully accepting of the fact that she wears fur. The fact that it's vintage fur does not make this any less hypocritical. Now, while I've never been thrilled with PETA, I haven't all out 'boycotted' them. I think I will now. Except for their pretty pictures.
Does that make me as hypocritical as them?
