Mad live journal land...

I've been going crazy on the_watermelon this evening... I've done like five posts! LOL. I think it's because I'm trying to decide what to do about reading this new story that just finally got posted online. Everyone has been waiting for this update for over two years and finally it's here! I've read the first part of the story many times and I ( Read more... )

Aaahh... well that explains it then, I didn't think you spoke Hungarian! lol. Which phrases did you help her with? Agneisza running around swearing and stuff?

I really love her writing too, it's extremely well done, especially considering that English isn't her first language. The things she describes seem so vibrant; full; textured; multi-faceted... real, I guess. But real in such a beautiful way. What do you think of 'Quando m'en vo'?

*chuckles* Am I rambling much?

I just finished the update myself.. argh! Stupid thing. It's great but now I have to wait for ages for the next update again. This is why I don't read unfinished stories. I didn't know that Campus was unfinished when I read it at first, and when I saw there was no chapter 12 I was so peeved! So now it was like... hmm... do I read the update and then get peeved because there is no follow up? Or do I just leave it til the last chapter comes out? LOL. Like that was ever a choice, I knew I was going to read the damned thing! It's not like I haven't read the unfinished bit up to chapter 11 like fifty million times in anticipation of chapter 12 being released.

Hey, do you reckon she'll end up publishing it when it's totally done?

yah, I just finished reading campus. I always have to read the latest chapter a couple of times to fully appreciante it. I like the fact its set in Europe and I like the sensuality and humor of her writing. I Anik should publish. That would be cool.

I thought 'Quando m'en vo' was pretty good but i still like campus the best. My mother claimed ignorance of any but the most innocent swear words which she added she didn't use. Mum helped with basic grammer and phrases like 'oh my god' etc. I looked on the web for Hungarian swearwords and my wordy they are a creative and colourful people when it comes to cursing.

Can i just add how good it is to find someone in Brisbane that ive met, that loves the J/7 pairing:D
And yes its very frustrating waiting for the next chapter but worth the wait:D

If your bored now and looking for other fabulous j/7 stories, have you read 'Dance with me'", Le Coeur de Lion or path of thorns? if you haven't enjoy.

Yay for finishing Campus! But weren't you sooooo dying for the next bit?! I know, I know, you said it was frustrating, but that sounds so calm, cool and collected. *g* I went a little crazy for a bit trying to distract myself from thinking about it's unfinished state. LOL.

I really liked 'Quando m'en vo', mostly because I do like Anik's writing style. I think sometimes she draws things out a lot though, and in a shorter story you can't do that so much, so it was still a wonderfully sensual, descriptive story, with a similar same languorous pace, but it just didn't seem to drag on for as long. Besides, I rather like short stories.

The Hungarians strike me as a type of people who would be very colourful in their cursing, yes. lol.

I would have read those three that you suggested. I know for sure that I've read all of the stuff by Casta Diva, and I know I've read Le Couer de Lion as well (although I don't remember much of it). Path of Thorns doesn't sound familiar, but I'd say I've read that too. One thing you will learn about me is that I'm terrible at remembering titles! Whenever Kari (my gf) is trying to tell me about a story, she has to describe it, instead of telling me a title or author because I just don't remember that way. Occasionally though, I'll remember some stories because they struck a chord with me or something. Authors' names are more likely to stick in my mind.

Anyway, I'll check those stories out again when I have time, because one added bonus of my terrible memory when it comes to fiction, is that I can reread and enjoy it all over again! lol!

I agree, it is great to meet someone whom I've met who likes the J/7 pairing. I mean, before this, the only people I knew who even read fanfic were my friend Susan (who now lives in the Blue Mountains) and Jun (who doesn't read in the same fandom/s as me). Otherwise it's just Kari and she is living kinda far away at the moment. So yeah, this is good! *smiles*

I agree actually... I think Agneisza got the most angst, and that was mostly solitary angst, not pissing off Brett angst so it didn't have the same firey quality, it was more mopey than you would expect from her. The angst between Eliane and Joanna wasn't as good as it had been, not so much tension maybe? Or maybe there was and it was just annoying what-the-hell-are-you-doing-get-over-yourself-already-and-communicate-to-help-make-this-work kind of tension. LOL.

I still liked it though... and I'm awaiting the next chapter!

Has Jun told you she read it and skimmed the Eliane/Joanna bits just so she could read the Brett/Agneisza bits? She's madly in love with Agneisza now... not that she can pronounce her name or even remember it for any length of time. *chuckles*
