1. Shopping.
Yes, one of the many things I tend to do on my days off is shop. Today, I had something I knew I needed to buy: a new purse. My morning was spent looking for ones at the outlet mall, but I found nothing at the places Ashley had dragged me and her male friend into. And, yes, we did drag him into stores like Claire's and Bath and Body Works just to torture him. We are terrible people, but we don't care.
I finally found one - and a new wallet - at the local Shopko. The reason I even HAD to get a new purse was because my old one (which was cheap because I only had so much to spend on it and was only purchased because I felt it was necessary for my trip to New York last winter) had broke whilst getting up to leave the break room over the weekend. It was slightly-but-not-really sad, but I knew it was coming - the thing had been falling apart for months now. I was just hoping I could prolong it until when I got paid today. But, alas, it did not. Also, the reason for a new wallet was because the other one didn't have enough space for the numerous cards I carry around AND it was a black Batman one, and black and brown do not mix, okay. Or so I've heard. Teal and brown are muuuch better, anyways. It has nothing to do with the fact that I didn't like The Dark Knight Rises or anything. I've just had it for 2 years and wanted something different for a change.
Also, I've been good about not buying movies, the last one being Treasure Planet at the begining of the month, but... I felt buying one was necessary today. I flip-flopped between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight on blu-ray, Risky Business on blu-ray, Pulp Fiction, Selena, Shawshank Redemption, or Office Space, but ultimately decided against ALL of them. I ended up buying 21 Jump Street because fuck y'all, I need that movie in my life all day, every day. Or, at least when they're high on HFS.
2. Hanging out with a friend who I barely talk to
I'm kind of a terrible friend. I have a kick-ass phone... and then never text anybody ever. This is primarily because I always find a way to talk about the same shit I always talk about every single time. Or because I get annoyed of them. One of the two.
Anyways, I knew I had off today, and because Garrett - or Gilbert - also had off today, I was like "Dude, we haven't hung out since, like, November. Let's hang out!" So, we went to Wal-Mart (where he bought Young Justice volumes 1-3), Toys 'R Us, Menards (where I bought The Aviator and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back!), the movie theater (to see Ted), Arbys, back to Wal-Mart (where he bought Adventure Time), and then finally Shopko. And by the time I got home, it was like, 9. So, for about ten hours today, I was away from home and spending money.
I ended up spending over $100 today.
3. Annoying my mother
As per usual. I sat around and re-organized my DVDs (like always) and watched 21 Jump Street and then Encino Man.
I did a lot of nothing today, but at least it was fun. And, yeah, I'm totally in love with my purse.
PS: as a testament to my laziness, if Toy Story 2 isn't at the library by Friday, I'm just going to go buy it. Which I was going to do today, before my unwillingness to spend money on Disney movies kicked in.
