My mother talked me into taking her up to Lindale farm this weekend, despite my reservations. I vowed to be strong. To be firm. To keep control.
I guess I suceeded. I only spent $88 all up. I didn't buy the reeeealllly big bottles of olive oil, only small cute ones. And only one small jar of scotch whiskey marmalade. And only a small jar of riesling jelly (which, when used as a condiment with a strong cheese and rustic bread is all kinds of wonderful).
Okay, well, I can't resist. Fine food / condiments. NOM.
OTOH, are those expensive little things outweighed by the cheap awesomeness that was three freshly picked organic red capsicums and seven large juicy tasty acid-free plum tomatoes for only $4? And the spices... so fresh, so cheap.
So, yes, right now I've got all the ingredients for an delicious moroccan chicken-and-mushroom tagine served with couscous.
Got a nice bottle of gwurtztraminer to have with it.
And, by the time I get home for work and slowly cook the meal, it'll be ready for serving at 8:00 - just in time for the WWE's No Way Out pay-per-view replay.
Fine food. Fine wine. Elimination chamber wrestling. It's gonna be a good night in!
