can i be added? i saw your replies on holly's post about mortgages and checked out your journal. i'm a fellow baltimore/d.c. girl (the hubby works for the feds, i do editing). reading your journal, i saw the pedegg post. we were rolling around when we saw that commercial and the cup full of foot shavings the other night :P

i grew up in catonsville! i went to hillcrest and actually worked at the church next door (catonsville presbyterian) at their daycare during the summers while i was in college. we're like neighbors (:

DUUUDE, I went to Hillcrest! And daycare at the church. I don't recognize your picture, so i don't think we know each other. Your husband's pic looks familiar though- maybe I cross him on the train??

Additionally, I see you do trivia and went to Howard. Ten bucks you were on the It's Academic circuit in high school!

haha nope. we actually only got into a trivia about a year ago. we play at columbia ale house in long reach village center. it's not totally geeky - more pop culture, although they do have questions on presidents, geography, etc. i get to flex things i learned on NPR!

and hubby has the best fed job - ssa in woodlawn. only 15 minute drive (:

i graduated in 2001, but i skipped a year, so how far apart does that put us at hillcrest? at daycare, i remember ... ms. kuniko (second grade), ms. shawn (third grade) and ms. stacy (who incidentally now runs the whole operation!)

I graduated HS in 2000, so I guess that puts me a year ahead of you??

@ Hillcrest I had Ms. Compton, Ms. Steinke (the Rainbow freak), Ms. Clark, Mr. Jones (the raquetball freak), and Ms. Houck (the overly tanned, overly permed mega beast).

I can't believe I remember all of them.

I think i had Ms. Stacy in preschool, but I was only 4, so I'd have to ask the rents.

I hate your husband with all the passion and fire of my being.

i had ms. turner, ms. mulligan?, ms. steinke, ms. abrams (ms. mccarten for math), ms. paskoff (ms. houck for math). i remember ms. houck screaming at me "who draws 8 like THAT????" because i drew two circles on top of one another on the chalkboard. but i did <3 her candy bar drawer (: do you remember mr. medicus for gym?

you would be 2 years ahead because i was supposed to graduate in 02 but i did high school in three years.

Ms. Houck was sooo evil. I remember her awful Pittsburgh accent. She has to be dead by now from her tanning and smoking.

Mr. Med was awesome. Remember Mr. Vaverka the music teacher? He was totally kicked out a few years after we left for a few alleged molestations.

i heard about that! i used to do after school drama with him and this lady who lived down the street from me (i lived pretty close to catonsville middle). we did this horrible play "bach to the future." he was always a little creepy, but i liked the "ghostbusters" thing with the black light (: much better than ms. korn(y).

Ahh, his partner in crime Miss Hogan. I lived on the corner of Oak Loade right across from catonsville Middle. We seriously were like neighbors!
