I left Mlle L. with a high degree of freedom when it came to getting the common areas in order. I asked just one thing: don't make it look too feminine. Someday I'll get back into dating and it would help me if the place wasn't too chickified. Then I left town for two weeks, entrusting said common areas to one of the most feminine women I know.
I should have known better.
Then there's the not insignificant matter of digging out my office so that it's as least as useful as it was when I left. Her powerful nesting instincts apparently over rode any concern about it's usability in the drive to exile several of my boxes there.
Lesson learned.

update: After a decent night's sleep and a bit of reflection, it's not so bad. Some things are temporary, and overall it's as reasonably balanced as I suppose it could be. Not like I had a ton of stuff for her to work with. I don't expect my Spider-Man/Venom statue will make it into the living room... it should probably stay in my office, anyway.
