From Variety: 'Iron Man' DVD sales lift Marvel
DVD sales of IRON MAN more than doubled Marvel Entertainment's fourth-quarter profits. Marvel had a pretty good year overall, thanks to IRON MAN and THE INCREDIBLE HULK.
No new movies for 2009, though there's licensing money tied into the upcoming Wolverine movie, and they've got four animated shows on cable. IRON MAN 2 and THOR (directed by Kenneth Branagh -- genius!) go into production this year for May and July 2010 releases.
It's nice to see that striking out on its own worked for Marvel.
