Getting to the Big M ... erm, gorilla style and with a big banana? :)

Heh, some gal pals have been pestering me to spill the beans about getting engaged ... specifically, how does a cheeky gorilla go from swinging wildly tree-to-tree (*ahem*) to eventually arriving at the mother of all trees (the Big M!) and, more importantly, how will they know if their guy is ready for marriage and how can they speed him along if ( Read more... )

Good question! I've never asked her actually although she has asked me that same question. Hmm, must remember to ask her sometime. :)

I must say though, J has never pressured me into marriage ... other than the occasional teasing and "hints" just to get a kick out of seeing me react. LOL! I've been pretty honest with her about my wild past, but more importantly I feel she really gets me and knows that if she gave me my space and freedom, I'll eventually get to the Big M. Heh, must be the Saggi in me lah. Hahaha! Still, given all my biz travels, I know how difficult it must be for her sometimes and, to be frank, getting engaged was partly my way of telling her I'll be around for the longhaul. ;)

Sounds like the right time and ingredients to the big M. Like I said before, happiness always. :-)

As for your gal friends, I have a few stories to tell:
1) Marriage crazed power woman and slack boyfriend eventually got married after a shotgun incident. Wedding guaranteed!
2) Said couple got married, caused chain reaction of egomanical weddings of gigantic proportions, one trying to outdo the other. (In Malaysia, a friend got his fleet of Ferraris and Porsches out on the day.., he deals with imported cars, and spent RM200k on dinner.
3) Buddies got married, man gets lonely.
4) True love (smirk).

Thanks, dude. Yah, you've gotta wait for when the time is right lah. ;)

As for your stories:

1) I guess shotgun slacker bf, erm, shot himself in the foot too huh? LOL! Wedding gauranteed, but I hope he's really in the right frame of mind for a wedding otherwise power woman will have another set of issues to deal with.

2) Power to them, but I'm really not into ego trip, showy weddings lah. Erm, I don't mind being invited for a spin in the Porsches and Ferraris though. Heh!

3) Huh? You mean man has no more drinking buddies or something?

4) So-called "true love" is overrated methinks ... or rather it's a highly abused phrase people throw around like it actually means something profound. *rolls eyes* I dunno if I can define what it means. All I know is how I feel about J and I'm keeping my eyes wide opened about the potential joys and headaches that come with being married. Call it whatever lah, but it still takes effort to make a relationship work ... much less a marriage man! ;)
