hi ...
im not dead yet, quite honestly ive been thinking what can i write about on here, and to be honest there's not much, been working from 40 to 70 hour weeks ... and a couple of other things in between.
so whats new since my last post ? a couple of things.
probably the first one is that i have a new car ... honda jazz, in bright yellow.
its my parents "old" car, its only done 8k, they traded in my car to get there new one, which is a kia carnival, the deluxe super dooper soccer mum car, its huge.
seen a good couple of acts which i have wanted to see for years now. i think the first thing was the st jeromes laneway festival. first "rock" festival for me, and i have to say i really enjoyed it, i had a couple of drinks, saw some bands, and meet up with a couple of friends on the day, it was a great day. bands i saw there were broken social scene, stars, okkervil river, fiest was playing, but she sang with broken social scene, so i didnt bother.
a couple of nights afterwards were interpol, and didnt disappoint. played for a hour and 3/4. so i was stoked.
things which are coming up is future music festival, it involves chemcial brothers, sven vath, john digweed, evil nine, elite force and some gay house/electrohouse dj's ... but its not the point, get to see diggers, vath and chems in my own city, its going to be rad.
2 days later, ian brown is playing, people might not know the name, he was the leadsinger for the stone roses, and has got a successful solo act at the mo, hell even has had his name put onto a pair of adidas shoes. but also sung with unkle, dj shadow and many other pretty big electronica music acts.
i have to say, im more excited about ian brown then all the others, i might be getting old or something, and ill enjoy the festival, but i think ian brown will just be awesome. ive wanted to see all those acts for a fair while now, but ian brown is what im kind of into now, i think im getting over "dance" music ... but only time will tell, still got some dj's i want to see coming up.
anyways, after that, on the friday im heading to renmark with a couple of mate's, shall be awesome, in the middle of a country town, getting shitfaced for st pat's day ... ive saved up 16 litres of pineapple juice from work, its crazy, but god its great.
then chris fortier is coming to adelaide again, he is one dj that i can really get into, he's alittle twisted, different and hasnt disappointed me when i have seen him.
air playing at tebbo on april 3rd, this is going to be awesome, another act which i have wanted to see for years, probably since when sexy boy was played on rage those many years ago.
then 2 days later, melbourne for v fest, got a couple of days there to catch up with friends, do abit of shopping, and find the canadian visa joint so i know where to go next time.
so yeah ... alot is happening, its one busy year already.
what else ? hmmm... work mainly, im quite boring right now, ive even grown a beard cause of boredom ...
