Fanart/Drabble: Down to Earth

Apologies for not having posted to this comm much lately.  Having been unable to track down the "WALL-E" comic book anywhere, I haven't had much to say, sadly. =/  Nonetheless, here's a little something I made today that I figgered you'd all appreciate.  Enjoy. ^_^

Was this what the humans called "dreaming"?

The scene WALL-E looked at made no sense: he and EVE stood upon the outer hull of the Axiom, gazing down at an Earth lusher and greener than the waste allocator had ever seen. He had no memory of this precise event, nor was there a time he could think of when it would ever have been possible.

Yet here he was, with his Evah, her hand comforting his back and his hand comforting hers. What else really mattered?

"Earth," EVE whispered gently to him, gesturing to the planet with her free fin.

"Green Earth!" WALL-E answered excitedly, happy to share this pristine sight with the probe.

"WALL-E's green Earth," EVE further replied, a light giggle ending her sentence.

This gave WALL-E pause, and he tilted his head a bit to the side at her statement with a slightly sad whistle.

Again, EVE giggled, nodding apologetically. "Correction," she said happily, "WALL-E and EVE's green Earth."

WALL-E's optics lit up happily, and he gave an improving nod. Thus the two stayed there, looking out at the healthy green Earth...

Their beautiful dream.
