I feel that since it's impossible to always know what other people celebrate, everybody should spread the tidings of whatever holiday they personally celebrate. It works in October. Some people wish me Happy Halloween, and some say Happy Samhain. I think it should work in December, and the rest of the year too. Up to and including if you don't celebrate anything, don't wish anything. It's enough to say thank you when others wish you well. Because that's all we're doing, all I'm doing at least is trying to wish people well. I'm not trying to subjugate your beliefs or cram my own down your throat. I'm not even particularly religious. I just like Christmas.* I've noticed a decided lack of general well wishing this year whenever I've been out shopping or running errands. I think it's sad. So please take this with all the well meaning with which it is intended...
Merry Christmas everyone!
*I've been trying to think of verbiage to denote the distinction between celebrating Xmas and Christ's Mass. The best I can think of so far is Commercial Christmas and I don't particularly like that.
