The black cloud rolled in.
There was an error on last year's election process. Sandi, my former manager, distributed the first call for nominations in September 2003 and then up and quit on me. I was assigned to pick up where Sandi left off, which was to distribute a second and third call and then proceed to put together ballots and move along with the election process. Turns out Sandi miscalculated the number of open positions of Technologist delegates to the House of Delegates-- there were supposed to be four openings on the ballot, not three. But, naive little me continued using the information Sandi originally distributed. Election went off without a hitch, all were happy and satisfied (not knowing about the screw-up), and now we're on to next year's election process. Fast-forward to today...
I received a call from my nominations committee chair telling me that the Technologist Section should have 8 delegates on the House of Delegates. We currently have seven. We missed one, thanks to Sandi. So now the President will have to appoint someone to fill the vacancy until June 2005, I'll have to send an announcement to the TS leadership saying that we need nominees to run for 4 delegate positions, Virginia will have to be notified of the error (I'm most scared about this), and we'll have to find another nominee to fill the ballot. To top if off, *I'LL* look like the fuckin' asshole who made the mistake even though I didn't!! Don't'cha hate it when co-workers screw up and then leave, making you the one to have to clean up their mess?
Grrr.....
