Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

~William Ernest Henley

I am 101 days drug free. On of my hundredth day of sobriety i didn't even realize what the date was; I ended up at home depot, purchasing enough foliage to start a Forrest. I planted 6 4' emerald Cedar trees, three raspberry bushes, countless patches of Irish moss, installed a pond, seeded my dust-patch-back yard with grass seed, and planted 6 Hostas and a Lilly plant, (all with loving help of my darling husband to be)

Hmmm...
I think I figured the meaning of life... or at least my life. Celebrate the little things. Create moments that last a life time, and as you nourish the earth, so shall you nourish your soul. Mud belongs between your toes. :)
