Okay... an update!

Grandpa's funeral did him credit. That's really all I have to say about that in this forum though I will rant about the special kind of bastard who goes through dead men's bins and leaves their stuff lying out on the lawn for his friends and neighbours (thank goodness my aunt, who was staying in the flat that night, was spared that)to find in the morning. Somewhere in Hull there is a man who rides a bike (we saw the security tape - he deliberately went for Grandpa's bins rather than anyone else's) and wears my Grandfather's hat. This is distrubing in a very strange way. Heaven knows what else he got.

The Mencap placement started out slow and then sped up to the point where it is now spiraling out of control. I'm working for the advocacy project and the information service which is serving two very different masters. I think I'm doing okay but after the constant reassurance offered at the children's home - they were just so pleased I didn't running away crying everyday - it's a little hard to guage.

I have applied for 13 jobs in three weeks so far. 1 rejection letter - though since most places don't actually write to you if they don't invite you to interview I'm sure the real rejection rate is much higher than this...

And one interview!!! It's for a Youth Offending Team in central London. I suspect I am unlikely to get it as they have a very high number of applicants and my experience is minimal. On the other hand I know I can do it and I'm really pleased to have been offered an interview. Plus, it's a really nice excuse for a day out in London.

Rhi had her baby... a little girl named Lyra Ann whom I will meet tomorrow. I'm very excited.

Anyone know what sort of questions they ask in a YOT interview?
