The twelvth CD is titled An Invitation to Dance.
Track 1: Bedrich Smetana “The Bartered Bride: Act 3 (Dance of the Comedians)”
I really like this song - it’s a lot of fun
Track 2: Edvard Grieg “Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1, Opus 46: Anitra’s Dance”
Another fun one with a lot of strings
Track 3: Antonin Dvorak “Slavonic Dance No. 8, Opus 46”
Great song, love the start and finish and the surprises throughout
Track 4: Frederic Chopin “Mazurka in B-flat Major No. 1, Opus 7”
Brings to mind a sunlit dance studio full of young ballerinas - blue and gray, pink tutus
Track 5: Hector Berlioz “Symphonie Fantastique: Second Movement (Un Bal)”
Waltz slow-ish, doesn’t pick up until 4 or 4:30, then lots of fun
Track 6: Johann Strauss 2 “Tritsch Tratsch Polka”
Fun, cute - I imagine a bunch of kids dancing, running and playing
Track 7: Camille Isaac Albeniz “Espana, Opus 165”
Very nice light piece, tender and slow
Track 8: Carl Maria Von Weber “Invitation to the Dance”
Love the light, strong, light, strong, light, strong - two dances for one!
Track 9: Franz Schubert “Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major: Third Movement”
Strong song with lots of feeling
Track 10: Ottorino Respighi “Ancient Airs and Dances: Suite No. 2 (Bergamasca)”
Nice, pleasant piece with a great build to the finale
Track 11: Pyotr Tchaikovsky “Eugene Onegin: Act 3, Scene 1”
Didn’t really enjoy this one
Track 12: Michael Praetorius “Wilson’s Wilde/Mistress Winter’s Jump”
Fun song!
Track 13: Amilcare Ponchielli “La Gioconda: Act 3 (Dance of the Hours)”
Love this song! Hello mudda, Hello fadda! The dancing one
Track 14: Alexander Borodin “Prince Igor: Act 2 (Polovstian Dances)”
Surprise hit! Spectacular throughout!
