This past weekend was pretty cool. I had to work Saturday, and I didn't remember what time. I tried calling the boss, and he didn't return my call that night.
At our morning meeting on Friday, one of my coworkers told me that Jos A. Bank was having a sale on their leather jackets and some suits and things. He said they were already 75% off, with an additional 10% off. 85% off a leather jacket! Fuck yeah!
So I ended up waking up Sat. morning to a disturbing dream (see previous post) which put me in a bad mood, and I kinda took it out on Kim.
I asked her to go down to the mall for me to check out the sale on the leather jackets. So on my way to work (I was going to try to be there by 9am) I got a call from Donovan, and he told me that I didn't have to be there until 12pm. Awesome! So I diverted myself to the mall. I got there at about 9am, only to find out that the mall and all the stores open at 10... Dammit.
So I let kim know I was there, and she met up with me. We had breakfast at Chic-Fil-A ( you can't beat the mini-biscuit and chicken nugget things.), and waited...
So finally the gates came up, and we went in to check out the sale. The jackets were pretty nice, but not nearly as discounted as I thought. So even though the jackets were 70% off, with the $600 price tag, it still only took it down to about $180. Still too rich for my blood, even though the jackets were really nice, but they had very few black ones that would fit me. They had a cool Bomber-style jacket, but there was only one, it was a size too small, and it wasn't black. Damn it all.
Instead of a leather jacket, we ended up buying about 15 or so t-shirts from Hot Topic. I love their clearance racks. You can't go wrong, and almost always end up with a few treasures. We also went to a game store, and bought Brain Age for Kim, and I got a Metal Slug game for Nintendo DS. Epic Win.
So after that, we walked around the mall a bit. I wanted to check out some of the jewelers. Some of the guys on the Nikon forums were posting about the watches they owned, and a few of them had the Citizen Skyhawk. Pretty awesome watch, with the Eco-Drive. It recharges the batteries through solar power. The time is also set through radio control. Pretty cool, and carries a $600 price tag, though.
So by that time I had to be to work. I got there, and it was a pretty decent day. Sold one high dollar item, and that's about it. Near the end of the day, a few young Ringling girls wandered in, and they were fun to talk to. One of the girls had found her dads old Canon AE-1, so Mark helped her out with it, and taught her how to use it and what everything means. After he was done with the girls, I showed her a few things and gave her a few tips with her 50mm lens that she had on the AE-1.
So after that, I got off work. Me and Kim made plans to go to dinner with Topher (Ferloo) and Chris (Ratchet). Ripner was out of town, unfortunatly. But he was hanging with two other cool cats in Orlando. So we went to El Greco for dinner, and had a good time, and good conversation. After that, me and kim left to go to our Saturday night car meet we like to go to. I wanted to go with Ferloo and Ratchet though, because they were going to watch some Mel Brooks movies. But I had to go to the car meet and talk with someone about having a new down pipe fabricated, and also I had to sell something to the waiter at Applebees. We got done at Applebee's later than we usually do, and didn't get to hang out with Ferloo and Ratchet because they were getting ready for bed time by the time we got done.
Oh, and we also went to Blockbuster, and got Kung Fu Panda, Tropic Thunder, Doomsday, Hancock, Iron Man, and Beer for My Horses (it's actually a really good movie).
So Sunday was just a busy day for me. I spent most of it cleaning out the garage, and trying to get shit organised. It sucked, but it needed to be done. So now the day is over, I got a some back rubs going on, and we're watching Playboy TV.
*exhausted*
And still nothing done to either of my cars... :\
