Well, The Laramie Project is finally over after it's magnificent run. It was pretty neat being their on the last day. Got too see all the handing off of flowers and crying people hugging. It was really rather touching. Amusing note: They gave the two lighting dudes, Ryan and the old dude who's name I don't know but somehow suspect is Dean or something, bouquets of flowers. They were miffed, it was funny.)
Anyway, yeah, after that touching expirience, I walk home, and just for the sake of contrasting situations, guess what I get to walk home to?
Walking down Sasamat, get to about 7th and I see a police car speed by, sirens blaring. Not so wierd, it happens. There are a lot of people my age walking about, lots of eh slightly inibriated, also not wierd, Friday night, you know.
Two blocks later, two more go wizzing past. Okay, so that's a little irregular. But what the hell.
I get to 4th avenue and what do I see? Couple more undercover police cars, lights flashing and all, a couple cops with flashlights questioning a bunch of semi-stoned kids. Stuff like "Hey, are you guys from that party?" and "Did you see anything?"
So yeah, I walk the rest of the way, see three more cops cars with the lights and sirens all going, also a fire truck and two ambulances.
This one kid wanted to use my phone to call his mom to come get him, so fine. Talked to him a bit. Turns out they were having a big party and some guy got stabbed in the neck. Lovely eh? I dunno if it's true or not, but bloody hell.
I dunno, after watching a three hour play about acceptance and seeing all the happy people and hearing about how this play changed their lives and all that crap, it was an odd thing to walk home to. Not that it wouldn't be anyway, but it made it wierder.
So now I am home, after having walked Rio, 'cause mom and dad are at a hockey game still (Whhooo! Go Giants!) I am sitting here with Mike and only one shoe. I am not sure why I haven't taken that shoe off yet, but I think I shall do so now.
Anyway, yeah. Thought I would share that. Now I am off to take off my shoe and listen to Chris's new song. Later folks.
