Part One
Captain Jack Harkness drummed his fingers restlessly on the window pane, a small cloud of fog appearing and disappearing on the glass as he breathed in and out, trying to keep himself calm.
"Where are you, Ianto Jones?" he muttered under his breath.
Jack had left Rhosneigr just before lunch with plans to join his lover at the Dorchester Hotel in London. Ianto had cabled that he'd be catching the first train out of Montreux which would have put him at the St. Pancras station in the early afternoon. Ianto should have been checking into their room while Jack was still enjoying the coastal views along the Irish Sea. When he got to the hotel a little after four, however, he'd been informed that he was the first to arrive.
Jack scanned the sidewalks in front of the hotel again, telling himself firmly that he was being ridiculous even as his eyes strained for some sight of his lover. Not only was he five stories off the ground, it was raining again so all he could see was a sea of black umbrellas. Unless Ianto had taken to carrying a bright red one, there was no way Jack would be able to pick him out of the crowd.
Trying to quash the uneasy feeling in his gut, Jack forced himself away from the window. He hung up his greatcoat and changed out of his uniform into a pair of loose slacks and a dark blue jumper. He'd just finished unpacking his ditty bag in the en-suite when he heard the door.
"Ianto?" he called as he hurried back into the main room.
"Jack! God, it's good to see you. I'm sorry I'm late," Ianto said as he dropped his valise on the floor and hurried to wrap his arms around Jack. "I missed the goddamned train in Paris by about four seconds and had to wait two hours for the next one."
"Oh, that's the worst," Jack commiserated between welcoming kisses. He paused long enough to slip Ianto's overcoat off his shoulders and pull him over to one of the double beds, getting Ianto off his feet. "It sounds like you were run ragged today," he sympathised as he cuddled Ianto protectively against his chest, his right hand settling over Ianto's heart, checking for any arrhythmia.
Ianto snorted at the concerned tone, but melted against Jack with no argument. "I'm fine, just tired."
"Did you eat lunch?"
Ianto nodded. "Yeah, I had a sandwich while I waited at the station. How was your trip down?"
"Not nearly as exciting," Jack said, resting his cheek on Ianto's head and just breathing in the scent of his lover again as they lay there quietly.
It had been over a month since they'd decided to move in together and almost that long since they'd seen each other. After their trip to Paris, Ianto's holiday in Wales had pretty much been at an end. Jack hadn't been able to squeeze anymore days of leave from his CO, so Ianto had boarded his train as planned after a fond, if restrained, goodbye on the platform at Rhosneigr. They corresponded almost daily, their letters crossing in the mail as they worked on the details of combining their households.
As much as they both would have preferred living openly in Switzerland, Jack couldn't find a way to just walk away from his students and his career in Wales and Ianto not only understood, but admired his dedication. With that in mind, Ianto had agreed to move to Rhosneigr for the next four and a half years. During that time Jack would start to wrap up his duties at Anglesey, make sure he was leaving his students in the best of hands before he mustered out with his twenty years. After that, they would relocate to Montreux permanently.
Ianto would be free to travel back to Switzerland for regular visits to the hotel and, with the new commercial flights opening up between London and Geneva, he'd be able to make the trip in a few hours rather than a full day on the train. While he was living with Jack in Rhosneigr, Ianto planned to take some business classes at the University College of North Wales in Bangor to round out all the on-the-job training he'd received at the hotel. Any holiday time that Jack had would allow them to travel to Montreux together. They still anticipated some bumps in the road, of course, but they were both satisfied with the bare bones of the plan.
"How's Paul settling in to his new position?" Jack asked softly after a few minutes.
"Good, good," Ianto murmured, sounding dozy. "The whole staff is dealing really well. I think they're just happy that it's all staying in the family, as it were. After Robert died there was a lot of upheaval so I've been trying to make everyone comfortable with the changes this time."
Jack stroked his hand through Ianto's thick hair. "And they all know you'll be back full time in a few years, so I'm sure that helps."
Ianto nodded as he yawned. "Mmmm, I need to get up or I'm gonna fall asleep right here," he said regretfully, nuzzling Jack's neck.
"Nothing wrong with a little sleep," Jack pointed out, but Ianto shook his head.
"I'll be up in the middle of the night if I fall asleep now."
"Okay, then," Jack said, pulling them to a sitting position. "I had plans to take you out for a nice dinner but I think maybe a long bath and room service might be more in order. What do you think?"
Ianto placed a row of kisses along Jack's jaw. "Yes to room service and definitely yes to a bath but not a long one. I don't want to waste a second we have together."
"Ohhhh, that's right," Jack hummed as he tilted Ianto's chin and captured his mouth for a long kiss. "You don't know why this is my favourite hotel in London."
"And why's that?"
"Come and see." Jack got off the bed and tugged Ianto along with him to the door of the en-suite.
"Oh… my," Ianto breathed. "It's bigger than yours!"
Jack growled playfully and pinched Ianto's arse. "Bite your tongue."
Ianto grinned, clearly unrepentant, and stepped over to the six-foot slipper tub to turn on the faucets. They undressed each other slowly as the tub filled, stopping for deep kisses and long lingering caresses that said without words how much they'd missed one another. Once they were settled in the water, Ianto leant back against Jack's chest with happy sigh. Jack chuckled and reached around Ianto for the soap and a washcloth, slowly running it over Ianto's chest, arms, and stomach as he relaxed, letting Jack wash away the remains of the day's travels.
"So tell me again how we're here, in one of the finest hotels in London on practically the eve of the coronation?" Ianto asked, breaking the comfortable silence. "I got your cable, of course, but you didn't really go into detail."
"No, it's hard to in a telegram," Jack agreed with a laugh. He settled himself against the back of the tub a little more comfortably and wrapped his arms around Ianto. "OK, well, this isn't just my favourite hotel, it's Palmer's, too."
"Palmer's your CO, right?"
"Yes, that's right. You'll meet him next time you come home," Jack promised. He dropped a kiss on Ianto's forehead and then rested his cheek on Ianto's hair. "The Dorchester is one of the safest buildings in London, so it's big with the military in general. Churchill and several of the Cabinet Ministers stayed here during the war. Anyway, as soon as the coronation date was announced, Palmer reserved a few rooms, knowing some of us would need to be here to represent the base. Blake was scheduled to come with Palmer, but his daughter was in a car accident a few days ago and he decided he should stay home. That's when I cabled you."
Ianto winced sympathetically. "Is she okay?"
"Oh, yeah," Jack said, giving Ianto a squeeze. "But she broke her arm and her leg, so she'll be in hospital for a bit. Blake didn't feel right leaving her."
"Ugh." Ianto shivered. "I hate hospitals," he observed while idly toeing on the hot water faucet to warm up their bath.
"I'm not overly fond of them myself," Jack added dryly.
"So what's involved with representing the base? And by that, I do mean how much time do I get to spend with you?"
"Actually, I'm all yours until you get back on that train," Jack said. "Turns out Palmer can take care of everything official, there's really not much to do. I'm just here so the room didn't go to waste."
"Really?" Ianto asked, sounding pleased.
Jack nodded, nuzzling Ianto's neck and kissing his damp skin.
Ianto turned the water off and shifted in Jack's arms, turning carefully until he was stretched out on top of Jack on his stomach, his chin resting on Jack's chest.
"What?" Jack asked as he smoothed Ianto's damp hair off his forehead.
"Nothing." Ianto shrugged and gave Jack a wink. "Just looking at you."
"Oh, yeah? Like what you see?" Jack grinned.
Ianto nodded.
"I've missed you," Jack whispered. He slid his hands up Ianto's arms, over his shoulders until he was cupping Ianto's face. "Did you miss me?"
Ianto nodded again.
Jack rubbed his thumb over Ianto's cheekbone and down to his mouth, tracing the curve of Ianto's lips. "Cat got your tongue?"
The tongue in question darted out to lick the tip of Jack's thumb. Jack's eyelids dropped to half-mast and he moaned softly. The moan intensified into a groan when Ianto drew Jack's thumb into his mouth and sucked gently.
"Guess not," Jack said in a ragged whisper.
"Guess not what?" Ianto murmured, teasing Jack's thumb some more.
"Guess not… cat got your… God, Ianto." Jack surged forward, splashing water all over the floor as he pulled his thumb free and covered Ianto's mouth with his own. He plundered Ianto's mouth, all the days and weeks they were apart suddenly crashing down on him. Ianto struggled to his knees without breaking the kiss, one hand gripping the side of the tub for balance and the other clutching at Jack's shoulder. Jack's arms slipped down to wrap around Ianto and pull him tight against his chest.
They kissed until they were both gasping for breath. They broke apart, laughing as they banged against each other when Ianto's knees slipped on the porcelain floor of the tub, making Jack tighten his arms again.
"We should get out," Jack suggested.
Ianto nodded. "As long as you're not thinking of stopping," he replied, stealing another kiss.
"Never," Jack promised in a husky voice. He was surprised by the rush of emotion that hit him at that word. He hid his face in Ianto's neck for a second, blinking rapidly.
"Jack?"
"'M fine," Jack mumbled against Ianto's shoulder. He got his wits about him and nudged Ianto gently to get out of the tub, following quickly.
They each took a towel, ostensibly to dry one another, but it was really more an excuse for groping than anything else. As soon as Jack was sure they wouldn't slip on the way to the bed or get the sheets wet, he dropped his towel and bent to pull the stopper out of the tub.
"Jesus!" Jack cried out, staggering forward a bit and catching himself with his hands as he felt Ianto's mouth on the small of his back.
Ianto made a noise somewhere between a moan and a pleased hum and knelt behind Jack, kissing his way over the curve of Jack's arse until he reached his goal.
"Jesus, Ianto, what's gotten - God!" The feeling of Ianto's tongue as it swirled around the entrance to his body made Jack lose his train of thought.
Ianto didn't answer other than to push harder into Jack's body. He cupped his hands around Jack's hips to hold him steady and buried his face in Jack's arse, licking, nipping, kissing, biting, shuffling through each different sensation to keep Jack on his toes - literally.
Jack braced himself, his palms flat on the bottom of the draining tub as he stood on tiptoe and arched his back, sticking his arse out like a cat in heat as he wordlessly begged Ianto for more. Ianto seemed more than willing to oblige, groaning out his own pleasure and pushing deeper when the vibrations of his hum made Jack cry out again. His hand snaked around Jack's hip to wrap around Jack's cock, tugging in time with the rhythm of his tongue. Jack arms started to shake and he lifted himself enough so he could grip the edge of the tub and not embarrass himself by falling headfirst into to the bath. He moaned continuously as Ianto worked him expertly between hand and tongue, adding a pair of wet fingers to his ministrations when he seemed sure Jack was balanced again.
That additional pressure pushed Jack over the edge. His hands clenched on the rim of the tub as he gave a rough shout shaped like Ianto's name and came hard, shuddering with every stroke of Ianto's hand on his cock. Before he'd completely recovered, Ianto was standing again, pulling Jack away from the tub and hurrying him to the bedroom.
Jack collapsed rather ungracefully on the nearest bed and reached for his lover. With a grin, Ianto made a spinning motion with his hand and uncapped a familiar bottle of oil.
Jack groaned again and eagerly rolled onto his stomach. "When did you grab that?" he asked breathily.
"While you were trying not to pass out in the bathroom," Ianto teased, his voice sounding a little strained.
Concerned, Jack leant up on his elbow and looked over his shoulder, the sight making him whimper at bit himself. Ianto was rubbing the oil onto his cock which was harder than Jack had ever seen it. He licked his lips. "Is that for me?"
"All of it," Ianto promised. He grimaced and poured a little more oil in his hand before setting the bottle on the floor. "If I can hold off long enough to get inside you," he added ruefully.
"I'm ready," Jack said, quickly raising to his knees and spreading his legs as Ianto oiled him up. "God, so ready."
"Good," Ianto said firmly and slid home in one agonisingly slow stroke that made them both cry out. "God, Jack, what you do to me. You've spoiled me."
"S-spoiled?" Jack stuttered.
"I used to be able to go months, hell, years, without needing to be touched. But you, you've changed all that," Ianto gasped as he set up a steady pace, pounding into Jack. "And it's not just any touch, I need your touch. I need you, I dream about you all the time, touching you, feeling you move inside me, feeling you - God, yes, Jack! Do that again!"
Jack grinned and clenched around Ianto's cock. "I want to feel you, Ianto. Come on, take me!"
Ianto cried out and slammed into Jack, his fingers digging into Jack's hips. Jack kept pushing back, meeting each thrust and squeezing Ianto's cock. He swore he could feel the moment Ianto started to come, feel the slight swell of his cock before the release. Ianto shouted, his hips moving frantically as Jack's arse worked his cock, pulling every drop of pleasure from him. Ianto gave a soft sigh and collapsed onto Jack's back, breathing hard.
With a smug grin, Jack eased Ianto out of his body and moved him the short distance to the other, still pristinely made up bed. He tucked them both in, cuddling Ianto close as their breathing evened out again. Jack caught Ianto's lips in a long, slow, soft kiss that seemed to go on for days.
"So how does that nap sound now?" Jack asked quietly, pulling back just far enough to kiss the freckles on the bridge of Ianto's nose.
"Mmm…" Ianto hummed happily, searching for Jack's mouth again.
They were still kissing when they fell asleep.
