...Though, you do kind of have a point. It was total chaos for a week, and then suddenly... everything was just back to normal? ...And I still have no idea how in the world I ended up on that beach. It was kind of overcrowded, though.

...I really wouldn't call it a vacation. I didn't realize it at the time, but in retrospect... pretty sure that place was full of everyone that 'killed' during the event. Even the people like me that didn't really do anything but our targets still... yeah. I think part of me realized something was up and tried to avoid as many people as possible. Probably for the best.

Making people kill each other and then send them off to some random beach.. That pretty much sounds like this place. [ At that a slight hint of annoyance manages to creep into her voice. ]

Like, creepily serious for him.] Yeah, I'm... really starting to dislike this place more and more. ...I'm afraid the good people are going to start cracking eventually. ...Or maybe I'm more afraid that I will. I mean, that's in like every terrible comic book ever. The hero becomes the villain. Maybe somebody'll have mercy and take me out before I ever reach that point.

...I'm almost expecting those to be the only calls, honestly. Not that I mind. Well, so long as the cats don't freak out and claw my face or something. I have no idea how drone animals operate.

Obviously. I've seen people who've done less, [ hello lazy and incompetent siblings.. ] so I guess I at least have to admire you for being able to get into such a mindset.

At least it would certainly be better to get those kind of calls rather than, let's say, a drone accidentally managing to set their kitchen on fire while cooking dinner. Compared to that cat scratches seem like a small sacrifice, hm..?

...Man, I know drones are actual people just... droned... but, they still give me the creeps. Can you imaging trying to save one that caught themselves on fire? They... wouldn't react at all. They would just be smiling and continuing to do whatever they were in the first place. Ugh. [Stupid Bridge, stop giving yourself nightmare fuel.]

It might be easier to just think of them as a form of really advanced robots, even if they seem like humans.. They can't do more than what they're 'programmed' to do.

...That would be easy to do if we didn't already have advanced robots where I'm from. The one I met was so good you couldn't even tell she was a robot until she, you know... started leaking oil.

Ah.. I guess with these different kinds of worlds it's almost inevitable that some would be advanced enough for such a thing. Perhaps this one is just like that too.
