I turned on the TV and started surfing the channels. The first channel was public television, and Coldplay was on. I thought, "Hmm, I don't know why Coldplay is on public television, but ain't no thang, I can watch Coldplay." One of the first songs I saw was "Ring of Fire." I was promptly won over by Coldplay suddenly pulling out some Johnny Cash. They then played "Clocks." Yay, another song I know! Concerts are only really fun if you know every single song. New music is for albums, if you release a new song at a concert, people will just stand there, confused and awkward.

What makes this postworthy, especially since I haven't posted since about when Gutenberg patented the printing press? Well....

They brought out a special guest. It was Michael Stipe. It was pretty much a convention of quite, white, liberal rockers. They played some project Stipe was working on with Coldplay, which was nice. But then they struck home. Chris Martin sits at his piano and says, "This is pretty much my favorite song of all time." He then plays the oh-so-familiar opening piano riff to "Nightswimming."

That song represents about 5 years of my life. The thing about my life is that there are so many different storylines, that very rarely know about the others, let alone meet. "Nightswimming," along with a very few others, connects to many of those. Some of the best ones. Which is why you are obliged to care. So nyah.

I always end on maturity.
