my GOD I slept through a phone call...that was right next to my ear...that was set on high volume. Well goes to show that I cant stay up late three times in a row.
Today:
A guest speaker from Burbank California came today. She was the intern recruiter from Nickelodeon. Thats like the closest thing to 'big industry networking' that Ive met so far...next to that one guy who worked on a movie with Sean Connery. Well anyway she came and told us a little bit about the production studio and what he had to do to become an intern. There was this one time where she asked us what we remembered from old school Nickelodeon and everyone was all "Ren and Stimpy! GUTS! Rocko's Modern Life!" She knew the guy who played the voice from the Legend of the Hidden Temple show and who played the voices for Momo and Appa from The Avatar.
someone in the crowd: whatever happened to those cartoons!
someone else: yeah!
her: ....uhm..they all died and went to cartoon heaven
everybody: NOO!!!
her: geez you guys are whiney xD dont you want all the new and fresh cartoons?
everybody: NOO!
The coolest part was we sat through the screening where it showed opening titles for all these well known cartoons. Like Spongebob, Fairly Odd Parents, The Avatar, Making Fiends, Dora the Explorer, etc. And Im thinking...omg I came to school just to watch the openings of cartoons...that is NOT a suprise at all. At the end of the presentation she said she was showing us an episode of a new cartoon that hasnt been aired yet for previews, its called "The Mighty B".
Its like the new age Ren and Stimpy cause the artwork is so similar. I can tell ill like this cartoon cause it made me laugh the whole time. x3 The main character is this girlscout [forgot her name] with a funny lisp who goes by name of "The Mighty B". There was this one part where she went into a chinese restaurant and all the azns are all "so...youve come.", the chef is all big and bad with all the customers jumping around like ninjas. And then for some reason the girl has this giant muscular superhero body with bee wings and it goes into some action scene. But then it cuts to reality and she's really just jumping around kicking and punching and all the azns are just staring at her.
The main story was this stuck up girl she knows was entering in a dogshow with her little chihuahua thing so she wanted to too. She finds a stray dog and forces it to become her pet and call it Happy. There's this montage of all that which was pretty funny all the way through. On the day of the dog show Happy tells her it didnt want any of this and leaves her. And thats when you realize she's bipolar lmao xDDD
The girl was last to walk the catwalk but then she tells the audience that Happy left her, but at the last minute Happy comes back. And they go into this whole crazy mess of performances lol I forgot what all they did but it was really funny. xDD The lady who ran the dogshow told the judge that the other girl better win. The girls had a tie so the judge had to break that by determining their breed. He turned down Happy and called it a mutt but TheMightyB girl said she didnt care. The crowd goes into a frenzy and the lady is all "but this dog is PUREBRED" or whatever, the judge replies with a "yeah look at these wonderful teeth...omg...thats not a dog...ITS A RAT!!!" and then there's this distorted wave of craziness that breaks into the scene and the stuck up girl turned into the devil or something lol.
It was crazy...but I like that cartoon. xD
