Everybody Super Happy
Soooo tonight we start rehearsing Eli's thesis, the stage adaptation of "Mighty Aphrodite." I'm excited... I've had enough time to be lazy and all that. And this also marks the beginning of the unending paper and midterm assignments which wont stop until April break. By the way, Brandeis people, whats our April like this year? Do we have classes after break or just finals again? That was the jesus last year. Literally, because he resurrected during April break and was like hey what's up?
Uhhh... Matt is in Japan. He left early Saturday and there is a 14 hour time difference so as I'm writing this he has already been at work for tomorrow for an hour or so. The Japanese are silly... I just hope he doesnt come back looking like an anime character and playing dance dance revolution. All i know so far is that their toilet seats are heated and they try to clean you, at which point I urged him to refrain from elaborating. It's hard for us to talk because for the most part he's at work from the time i get back from rehearsal until i go to classes and work the next day, and all that.
In other news, i'm pretty fucking depressed. Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my grandmother's death. Yesterday we went to a memorial mass for her in Norfolk and then back to my uncle's where we had a huge portuguese feast. That was nice. My aunt has compiled a huuuuuge recipe book which contains all of my grandmother's recipes in her own handwriting with pictures of her throughout. She wrote amusing notes on some of them such as "DO NOT SQUEEZE BREAD!" There's also a picture of her making a wedding cake in the bedroom which makes me happy. But I miss her more than anything. Her sister, my grandaunt, (You may remember her from her comment to TJ- "Don't worry I'm dead from the waist down." ) was there and they have similar voices and accents and she yelled "JARDIN!" like my grandma always used to and I almost cried. Anyhow, I should be off to rehearsal.
