He wasn’t much for hugging, and they had accepted it. As much as they enjoyed the casual show of affection they could see where he wouldn’t. He hadn’t been raised in a family that really hugged. They were cold and distant and he had been taught to be the same, but every once in a while he would let down his walls, let them wrap their arms around him and cradle him to their sides, show them how much they cared about him with the causal touch and warm embrace.
It was moments like these that made it all too clear why they loved him.
