Someone already offered to do a pair for me just for the parts, so the price is better be a good one.

That depends on what you want them to do. My eye will have several unique features, including nightvision capabilities and a set of extra lenses for limited telescoping or microscopy. If all you want is normal, un-enhanced vision, then yes, it won't be very expensive, but the cost will go up with each unique feature.

Probably. I'm the leading authority on fontech in my world; there's not a machine out there that I can't figure out.

Not particularly. When you'd rather be anywhere except one place, avoiding that place becomes very easy.
