I had an extremely lovely time this weekend.
FRIDAY
-Wake up at 10! and lounge around doing some last minute things, and procrastinating with the straightening of my hair. (Which was pointless, by the way, because by the time we went to bed that night, it was starting to curl.)
-The adorable Ariel picked me up at 3:30 and we went to her house, where we hid her math book from Adam because he's a big geek who always wants to do her work for her, and played around with the CD player for the car.
-Ariel's dad got home early, so we called Adam to come over earlier so we could leave.
-Then, we left, and the car ride was...very typical of us. We listened to my mix CD and many other showtunes and sang. Go figure.
-Arrival down the shore, where we spent 7 years deciding where to eat. Finally, we all ended up walking and picking up Chinese food, which wasn't the best but it was okay.
Best part of dinner:
Caitlin: (*does something crazy*)
Adam: Caitlin!
Ariel: Caitlin!
Caitlin: Caitlin! What, I felt left out!
-After we ate dinner, we sat around for a bit and I can't remember what we did.
-Around 9-9:30 we took a walk down to the beach, which was...amazing. First, we walked (and ran) down the shore a bit and then we found a spot. Or we just stopped. And I decided to spin around and Adam thought it looked like fun but Ariel didn't. And, all I have to say about the next hour, which was spent singing, spinning, sitting, and talking is... "In that moment, I swear we were infinite."
-Home, where we went in that little sitting room and sat on the couch in a big pile, and I guess Adam and I fell asleep for a few minutes, and then we decided to get up and eat donuts and watch Friends and Will & Grace.
-Then, we all got into our pajamas and while Adam took 7,000 years upstairs, Ariel and I decided to watch Peter Pan, which surprisingly was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.
-So by now it's 2 am, and you'd think we would go to bed, but no. We read the birthday book (it's like...a horoscope based on your birth date) and that was fun. And I guess we just relaxed until Ariel and Adam, who do not live lives of insomnia like I do, decided to go upstairs for bed.
-Talking, silliness, and finally sleep ensues around 4.
SATURDAY
-Everyone wakes up at 10:30 (I had been up off and on since 7) and we take an hour and a half to get out of bed.
-Breakfast. Another 10 hour ordeal.
-Getting dressed. Another 20 hour ordeal. I was comfortable in bed, what do you want from my life?
-Buy bread for sandwiches for lunch. Crossing streets? "Green means Elphaba!"
-Making lunch. Another 10 years.
-Finally, we got to the beach. We tanned, and played the song game (I AM A BEAST) and went in the water, which was nice but I kept getting a really bad ear ache, so I got out and they followed.
-We finally ate and then rushed back to the house where we utilized ourselves some showering facilities and then rushed to the train station...
-...Where we missed the train. Oh well, screw the stupid party Adam was leaving us for. We're better. The train ride was a bit fun, more for Adam than anyone, as he got comfortable laying across Ariel's lap, and she massaged his back and I played with his hair. Prince Adam. Pfsh.
HIGHLIGHT:
Caitlin: Ooh, I can see it's getting cloudier in the distance.
Ariel: How do you know?
Caitlin: I can see the clouds!
-Arrival in Cherry Hill. Take Adam home. Get dinner with Mom and Ariel. Rent movie with Ariel. (Lemony Snicket...I was not impressed. The books are better.) Then, talking for a bit and it was time for me to go home.
Quite lovely.
Ariel is decidedly the Mommy, as she takes care of Adam and I and breaks up our fights.
I also inflicted my incessant teeth-brushing (oops, there's a lot of big words for Adam...) upon Ariel and Adam. Hehe. Hygiene is awesome!
Now, I have a boring family thing to go to and no friends to go with me. But, I do get to meet the new baby! Which is exciting.
