at_pinball CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Zhang He/Dynasty Warriors
In-Game Name: Zhang He (Stylized Junyi)
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Position & Ship (first and second choice for position please): Quartermaster|Silvana (Strategist second)
Appearance: Zhang He enjoys wearing silks in purple or pink, or combinations of the two. Some of his wardrobe consists of sheer silk like material. Most of the clothing he owns contains embroidered butterflies, some of the articles going as far as having replicas of this insects wings sewn onto the back of them. Sometimes you can spot him in shorts, though this would provide a see through material attaches along the waist to flow behind him.
Despite this he does own some cotton gradients of the same kind and has most recently discovered make-up art. His hair is usually held up with a metal ornament, normally elaborate in its design.
Personality: Slightly narcissistic, Zhang He is well known for enjoying the beauty of things. In battle he can encourage his troops well, sometimes forcing them to dance gracefully after one. On the battlefield he also finds these things important, not being one below using hand motions to emphasize himself on the matter. Quite a free spirit in his own he tends to generally ignore whenever someone taunts him, finding himself above such things (this isn't to say he isn't for taunting someone at a later date). That isn't to say the male isn't offended by them. In fact he takes great pride in his own beauty and grace and to have it torn down damages some of his ego, as it would any man as conscious as he.
He is very eccentric in everything he does. Whether it be merely making hand movements or speaking, everything is done with the grace of the butterflies that encouraged him to leave his hated hometown.
He respects Confucian scholars for their intelligence. These magnificent people help him to adapt to new situations through their works and graceful words on paper. His true brilliance being able to shine through with every reading, as being from a small town without knowledge of their existence made him feel quite illiterate. This has recently changed, however, as he's begun to take up reading to educate himself more on trivial matters he never understood.
It takes some form of realization to truly gain his respect, though he usually gives some to his fellow peers. A beautiful person may gain more respect than one of mere grace but a person with both would be his favorite to speak with. Of course he sometimes assumes a person with beauty must also have grace and is more times than naught dissatisfied with his findings.
Abilities/Weapons: Zhang He can use a double ended spear when he needs to, but as main weapons he prefers to use his 'claws'. This weapons compliment his battle effectiveness, speed, best. It provides quite a few weak spots should he ever be involved in one on one combat but it is most desirable for ground control. He knows a lot about battle, even at the age of twenty-two, understanding strategic positions and battle basics, having a fair judge of character when it come to it.
How well can your character hack?: Barely even at all.
Weaknesses: He is quite sensitive to his own beauty. Remarks about it make him quite self-conscious, this perhaps being the reason he discovered make-up. He does also have a weakness for beautifully things, though the extent of this isn't exactly known.
Another weakness of his own lies for when he does do battle. His equipment is rather light, being easy to pierce. He is also slightly conscious of opinions on his sexuality, though he hides this, playing it off with them merely being jealous that their beauty cannot compare to his own.
History: Not much is known about Zhang He's home life but it is often thought, due to his random decision to join the army that he was born to an average family. Zhang He came from a modest home, one consisting of a hardworking miner for a father and a devoted stay at home mother. He was raised within the town of Tulgim, a city not widely known for anything other than their mines and steelwork. Such a modest life was not for Zhang He for he grew up to detest the idea of becoming a mineworker like his father. Knowing that labor such as this was never his calling, Zhang He found himself enjoying the finer things in life much more. He worshipped his beauty, often comparing himself to the fragile elegance of a fluttering butterfly. Zhang He knew his full beauty would not bloom is he were covered in soot all of the time. No. He knew that his future was destined so that he could soar to the heavens and free himself beyond the shackles of everyday life.
After realizing this, he fled home to attend a military academy, surprisingly Belarus. It was, naturally, the biggest and most renown. He was sure this would increase his grace and beauty out there where it would lead to his inevitable flight.
Zhang He had participated in-group coalitions during his time as a commander under Admiral Yuan Shao. Despite He's experience on the battlefield many of those under Shao's command, even Shao himself, found the younger solider to be less than capable in fulfilling his duties. This was in part due to his eccentric and flamboyant behaviour. In the Admiral's eyes, this was a hard matter to over look and many of his commanders agreed with his ill assessment of Zhang He, debatedly due merely to the loyalty they had for Yuan Shao. Although there was one man who did not agree with the admiral's unfair judgment; Commander Cao Cao claimed that he saw more potential in Zhang He than he seen any other new recruit to the 22nd Imperial Fleet. He adamantly vouched for Zhang He, stating that the young man's personality has no effect upon his duty as a soldier and that even if He is a tad unorthodox in his manner of dress and speech, that Yuan Shao had no right to judge him upon such mannerisms. It was because of Cao Cao that Zhang He began to notice how bias Admiral Shao was and began to dislike working for the 22nd Imperial Fleet. Opting to create a better life for himself, free from the discrimination of the military, Zhang He began to look elsewhere for employment.
When he heard of Cao Cao's flight from the 22nd Imperial Fleet, Zhang He decided that it was down to open his wings elsewhere and went to follow the man. When the time came and Zhang He tried to be transferred from the Imperial Fleet to the Victoria II, he was deterred by the military board. He was not allowed to transfer to the Victoria II because of the doubts held against him for various reasons. It was then that Zhang He decided to take a small break from such attempts and transfer to a lesser-known airship called the Silvana, resigning from the military. It seemed unlikely he would be able to meet with Cao Cao anytime soon after all.
He decided on the task quartermaster when he joined the crew of the Silvana, surprised that Captain Rowe would even offer a position like that to him, all things considered. After facing such close-mindedness with the military, it felt nice to be given the chance to work beyond limitations he normally would have had. In hopes of fulfilling his duties upon the Silvana, Zhang He decided to devote himself into proving to those who have put him down in the past that they were wrong. If he could survive upon the second most dreaded vessel in all of Reial, then perhaps Zhang He's future will become a bright one no longer delayed by the treacherous wind of the sky he wishes to soar through on his unfurled wings…
HMD/Crit thread as well. As a reminder.
